Unleash the Beauty of Hardwood Floors

Waterproof Flooring

Hana Hardwood is committed to providing exceptional flooring installation services in Los Angeles, CA

Waterproof Flooring

At Hana Hardwood, we also offer Waterproof or “wood-like” flooring as an option. These different types of water-resistant flooring options mimic the look of wood. Let’s explore the key differences between Vinyl (SPC and LVP) and Laminate flooring.
Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring is a highly durable and waterproof option for those seeking wood-like aesthetics. There are two main types of vinyl flooring: SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) and LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank). SPC vinyl flooring is constructed with a stone-plastic composite core, making it incredibly resilient and resistant to impacts, scratches, and moisture. It consists of multiple layers, including a wear layer, a printed design layer, and a backing layer, all topped with a protective finish. SPC vinyl is renowned for its exceptional durability and water resistance, making it suitable for high-traffic areas and spaces prone to moisture, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

LVP, or Luxury Vinyl Plank

LVP closely resembles hardwood laminate flooring planks. It is also built with layers, including a wear layer, printed design layer, and backing layer. LVP provides a realistic wood appearance and texture while offering superior water resistance. It is a popular choice for homeowners seeking the beauty of hardwood flooring with added durability and moisture resistance.

Vinyl flooring, including both SPC and LVP, often comes with attached padding, such as cork, which provides additional comfort and noise reduction.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring, while not fully waterproof, is primarily water-resistant. It consists of multiple layers, including a high-density fiberboard (HDF) core, a photographic layer that mimics the appearance of wood, and a protective wear layer. Laminate flooring can withstand limited exposure to moisture but is not recommended for areas prone to standing water or high humidity.

At Hana Hardwood, we supply the padding for laminate flooring, although it is mostly not attached, allowing for flexibility and customization during installation.

When it comes to water-resistant flooring with a wood-like appearance, vinyl (SPC and LVP) offers the highest level of durability and waterproofing capabilities. Laminate flooring, while water-resistant, requires more caution around moisture exposure.

We understand the importance of selecting the right flooring option for your specific needs and budget. Our experts can guide you in choosing the most suitable water-resistant flooring solution that combines durability, style, and water resistance to elevate your space.

We used Hana Hardwood to refinish 69 year old white oak floors. The floors came out beautifully. Chris came to the house, helped us understand the process, and gave us a fair bid.
